Brought from the woods the honeysuckle twines
Around the porch, and seems, in that trim place,
A plant no longer wild
From "The Excursion" by William Wordsworth
Sweet-scented Japanese Honeysuckle, with its profusion of white flowers that age to creamy yellow, set against dark green leaves, is a pleasure for both the nose and eye while it is in bloom.
It is a vigorous vine with brittle, woody stems that twine around objects in order to climb, and will also happily trail along the ground. Commonly seen at the edge of woods climbing bushes and trees, it is also grown domestically, on a trellis or as a ground cover.
